About this vacancy

At Internationella Engelska Skolan Sundbyberg we make a difference in the lives of our students. We believe this is due to our clear ethos and established routines, with engaged and visible leaders creating an environment in which teachers can teach and students learn. IES schools have a dynamic international atmosphere with staff and students from all over the world. Our schools are open to all students, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

IES Sundbyberg was established in 2018 and offers outstanding bilingual education to 620 students in grades 4-9 and a fulfilling career opportunity for around 70 employees. We follow the Swedish national curriculum with up to 50% of teaching in English.

IES Sundbyberg is now looking for an Assistant Principal, Senior School Y7-9 with the earliest start January 7th 2026.

The role

The Assistant Principal Senior will lead the school forward in pastoral and academic affairs within the Senior school, Y7-9. This role requires visible leadership and a passion for student safety, well-being and development of the school according to our vision. You will be part of the Management team and work closely with them (Principal, Assistant Principal Junior School and Academic Manager). You will also have responsibility for the Student Care Team, the Support Staff in Sr school and Heads of Years in Y7-9. You will also collaborate with the Special Education Department when it comes to students with academic needs.

Who are you?

You are a visible role model with a strong presence in the daily life of the school. You have the ability to engage and inspire both students and staff without prestige and you strongly believe in the IES Ethos while walking the talk. Experience in working in IES is therefore  highly valued. You are flexible and adaptable to change, a team player, have a listening ear, whilst focusing on outcomes and keeping a holistic perspective. You have teaching qualifications, preferably experience in Student Care/elevhälsoarbete, school leadership and have taken leadership programmes. You need to be able to communicate in both Swedish and English since we are a bilingual school with people from all around the world as well as we work a lot with outside authorities which often requires to communicate in Swedish.

Application

Apply now by submitting your resume and a covering letter at IES Careers. We look forward to reading your application! We will be interviewing on an ongoing basis.
