Assistant principal 4-6

Do you want to be part of leading a school where students' knowledge, development and safety are at the center? 

 

IES Eskilstuna is now looking for a committed and clear assistant principal for grades 4-6.As an assistant principal, you will be part of the school's management team, as well as having primary responsibility for students in grades 4-6. This means ensuring that students develop and thrive in a safe and exciting school environment, and that our teaching is of the highest standard. You will be an important part of our systematic quality work, which we will develop further together. In your role, you will play an important part in maintaining and developing our school culture where teachers can teach and students can learn.Main duties include

  • Responsible for the pedagogical activities in grades 4-6
  • Lead the work with collegial learning, systematic quality work and formative teaching culture
  • You have an important task in working actively with student health issues, safety and well-being, in close collaboration with the school's student health team and work teams
  • Responsible for work with adaptations and special support as well as being a support for staff in matters relating to the quality of teaching and work
  • Personal responsibility for staff in grades 4-6 and ensuring a good working environment
  • Contribute to the school's overall vision, goals and structure
  • Responsible for building a culture based on our values as well as general professionalism and the IES ethos

 

QualificationsYou should be a visible role model with a strong presence in the day-to-day running of the school and you possess the ability to engage and inspire students, parents and staff. As a leader, you are solution-focused and able to handle complex situations and you have good communication skills both verbal and written. You should have experience in implementing both prevention and behavioral methods and policies within schools. We are looking for you who have an ambition to work long-term and with a focus on creating stability and development in close cooperation with the school principal.

  • You share the values of Internationella Engelska Skolan and are a role model for those around you
  • You are a qualified teacher (or equivalent) with several years of teaching experience
  • You have experience of leadership in schools with good results
  • You have good knowledge of the Education Act and other governing documents
  • You have solid knowledge of grades and assessment according to LGR 22
  • You are a good listener and relationship builder with parents, students and staff.
  • You are a structured and organized, as well as driven and responsible team player
  • You communicate well in writing and speech in both English and Swedish
  • You have experience of working with special educational needs
  • You have previous experience from having personnel and recruitment responsibilities or equivalent
  • Experience as an assistant principal, preferably with started/completed principal training or other management training is an advantage

This is a permanent position, full-time, starting in August 2025.
